Wet bench systems are often robot-loaded and sequence-processed through a series of one or more chemical and rinse baths, then through a drying system, returning them to an Output buffer.Designs can be configured to provide all types of Chemical Processing and Rinse Process Baths, including Various Plastics, Stainless Steel and Quartz, Static or Re-circulated, Ambient or Temperature-Controlled.Additional options include Ultrasonic as well as Electrostatic potential for plating, etching, and/or polishing with Agitation capability. Additional configurations such as Re-circulators/Chillers/Heat Exchanger, Concentration Monitor and Ozonation systems, as well as Chemical and Rinse Baths, and Dry Chambers are often used.Duties and Responsibilities:The Mechanical Engineer:Creates Designs that satisfy contract specifications and all applicable Design standards while meeting material budget constraints.Performs Engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc., as related to Machine and Tool Designs.Analyzes Engineering drawings and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness etc., in the development of equipment, processes and products.Collaborates with the Mechanical Engineering Manager to create an Engineering Deliverables plan that, when executed, will satisfy the overall Project schedule.Monitors and reports progress toward Engineering Deliverables to the Mechanical Engineering Manager on a weekly basis. Defines and executes a recovery plan if Deliverables are not completed on schedule.On a weekly basis, reviews and updates labor estimates to complete each assigned job. Notifies Mechanical Engineering Manager when under or over capacity utilization situations are projected.Provides technical direction to Toolmakers, Technicians and Machinists, as needed.Consults regularly with Project Managers to report status, raise issues, and take direction and help where needed.Participates in regular Project status updates with Customers.Presents Designs during internal and Customer Project reviews.Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers to arrive at Designs that are optimized for manufacturing ease while still meeting all functional requirements.Follows all applicable Company ISO procedures.These are Contract to Direct Hire positions through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, located in Portland, Oregon.
